Our People

The MARC comprises alcoholism researchers of exceptional caliber and dedication to research into the etiology of alcoholism and comorbid disorders.

It also draws on the profound strengths of the WUSM Department of Psychiatry in the areas of psychiatric, statistical and behavioral genetics, psychiatric epidemiology, diagnostic assessment and nosology, quantitative methodology, molecular genetics and neurobiology, and prospective and long-term studies; the strengths of MU and PAVA in psychosocial and high-risk research on alcoholism; and the strength of QIMR in epidemiologic research on alcoholism.

MARC investigators, almost all of whom have current or past funding as NIH PI's, represent a wide array of academic backgrounds, including adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, epidemiology/public health, anthropology, behavioral/ quantitative genetics, mathematical/statistical genetics, molecular genetics and neurobiology, quantitative psychology, and clinical and social psychology .  They represent a broad range of expertise including community and family studies on children and adolescents  as well as youth - including minority adolescents and families;  high-risk and prospective/follow-up studies), including psychophysiological and dynamic posturography studies and alcohol  and nicotine challenge studies.
